The mini-primary idea may be smart but it still feels somewhat obscene, seeing as how everyone who would run in it could have run in the normal primary (and all were fully aware of Biden’s deficiencies) but opted not to, leaving us in this situation.

The reason I’m still skeptical Biden will step aside, even as consensus begins to emerge, is because for months he’s been like “Come November, Muslim voters in MI and Black voters in GA, who are desperately crying out against my relentless material support for genocide, will forget all about it.”

Recent years have certainly produced stupefying lurches toward dictatorship in our government, but I have to say: a system predicated on the dictatorship of the boss at work, the dictatorship of the landlord at home, and the dictatorship of the creditor in court contains the seeds from the outset.

The thing about the immunity decision is that, it's gonna be like that til I die. Even if we stop Trump this time. Even if he dies never approaching the presidency again. It's a giant hole blown in the side of the ship of state and it's just a matter of time until it starts flooding.
