Justice Sotomayor suggests under the majority's reasoning, presidents would be immune from prosecution for "ordering Seal Team Six to assassinate a political rival... organizing a military coup to hold onto power... taking a bribe in exchange for a pardon. Immune, immune, immune."
Justice Sotomayor:
"Today’s decision ... makes a mockery of the principle, foundational to our Constitution and system of Government, that no man is above the law...
"With fear for our democracy, I dissent."
To be fair, the charges that brought this case to the supreme court do involve an attempted coup...
But, every claim Trump has made about Biden using the DOJ against him (even if proven false) are now legitimately legal if they were true.
