I loved that first Cranberries album so, so much. And I still get goosebumps when I think about hearing “Zombie” for the first time at that concert.
Also, I had no idea that Duran Duran was an actual, for-real, good band before that show. Thought they were more like a boy band. Great show.
There were a slew of successful bands slightly earlier that no one knew what to do with. Duran Duran, REM, U2 all came out of more or less nowhere at the same time. I remember U2 being put in the "Christian Rock" bin.
