...Real talk, though:
If you've ever thought "I want to read more graphic novels, but I have no idea where to even start?"
I put together a booklist of my top favorite, absolute-must-read graphic novels!! ππ It's like a list of potential holiday gifts for comic fans!
bookshop.org/lists/must-r...?
You: Please act normal; you need these people to like you.
Me: Ok!
People: hi.
Me: You heard of these things called graphic novels?? Theyβre like comic books that are the length of novels, and employ compositional storytelling toβhere, Iβll just start you off with these 20 first, you got a pen?
Ooh, great list! Based on your list, you would probably also enjoy Paper Planes by Jennie Wood, Dozerdraws, & Micah Myers; The Princess and the Grilled Cheese by Deya Muniz; Danger and Other Unknown Risks by Ryan North & Erica Henderson; & Light Carries On by Ray Nadine.
So many good reads!!! I'd like to recommend The Nice House on the Lake (James Tynion IV), I Hate Fairyland (Skottie Young), Neverlanders (Tom Taylor), Something is Killing the Children (James Tynion IV) π
That's a great list, thanks! I remember a while ago, I was *that close* π€ to give in to "The Many Deaths of Laila Starr" and seeing it in your list, I will probably go and read it π
So. I bought it on Thursday (found it in a small bookshop in town), read it yesterday and today. And I really enjoyed it :) it was definitely intriguing and captivating!
I'll have to let it sit for a while but I'm sure I will often remember the last chapter.
Thanks for the recommendation ππ
