Part of a good thread that illustrates why I don’t hang out on Twitter/X anymore

There was an even bigger difference in the comments received. All on Threads and all but one here were positive, constructive, or neutral (one person was just being a jerk, not a troll). Only 18% on X were positive or neutral. The rest were negative, many highly so.

It's Independence Day, commemorating the day this country kicked a king to the curb. Eternal shame on the six justices on the Supreme Court who betrayed our founding principles by turning the presidency into a new monarchy.

Agreed, and you can use the size/number of panels to emphasize the timing of certain moments: Many panels = slower pace Fewer panels = faster pace Large panel = big moment Small panel = small moment (YMMV, feel free to break any of those “rules”—they’re shorthand, not standards)

One of the things discussed in here recently about comics writing is the importance of not having a character do multiple actions per panel. BUT this is not as far as it goes: Sometimes you want to have an action or gesture or reaction over multiple panels. Because timing is IMPORTANT.

My only criticism is that I tend to get really bad secondhand embarrassment (cringe perhaps?) watching sex scenes in animated shows, and this show has a LOT of that in it (Which is more of a personal preference thing, but if you’re the same way, prepare yourself haha)

Okay I’m enjoying BLUE EYE SAMURAI *way* more than I thought I would so far It’s just extremely cool!! In so many ways!! I’m so glad we’re experiencing this new golden era of TV animation!!! 🤩

Give to your community. Homelessness is going to be illegal, so give to orgs that help. Trans folks are in danger, so help those orgs. Give to food pantries. Give to youth programs, give to churches, give to arts programs. You can always help *someone*. And we are all gonna fucking need it.

I think if there’s one thing that I am most likely to start ranting about when dude-bros want to tell me anything about Star Wars, it’s Marcia Lucas’s role in the original films, and how she’s been wiped from film history since she and George divorced.

Marcia Lucas in fact won an Oscar for her film editing of Star Wars. George Lucas was up for two that year and won neither (he was beaten out by Woody Allen for both of them). He has still not won a competitive Oscar.
