The thing that really does have me concerned about Biden is that we're a week out and he hasn't done or even scheduled three or four things like this. A year ago he was clearly capable of doing such things.
And I suppose I should mention that Biden on his "bad night" showed a far better grasp of the things presidents need to know than Trump and it wasn't close. But while "better than Trump" makes for an easy voting decision, both parties should have higher standards.
Seems like he's been doing a decent batch of events since the debate like interviews, glad handing, speeches, whatnot. He's imperfect but I still haven't seen anything in any of the avalanche of articles to justify the rumors and headlines or etc. or to suggest the coverage would improve for Harris
Somewhat disagree. He's done some stuff, but there have been complaints from Dem electeds that he's not reaching out to them enough. And while there's nothing I'd call definitive, some of the re-reporting on the Europe trips indicated real (potential?) problems. Wasn't the case last year.
I guess what I'm looking for is anything to justify a move as seemingly risky as is being demanded. Can't think of a scenario that results in better media coverage for Harris in this environment than Biden is getting. Would expect someone to have a more serious story after this full court press
Yes. Demonstrating basic mental competence (and that the debate was therefore an aberration) should be a cakewalk. That it hasn't happened yet is alarming.
He's alert and engaged from 10 to 4... He needs more sleep... Should travel less... These are not reassuring that he's capable of continuing.
