The more sustainable option is passing a fuckton of legal reform to keep Exxon, Shell, BP, and the rest of the oil cartel from polluting the planet. Individuals aren't the problem, big companies are.

An economist friend years ago insisted that corporations are not to blame because consumers choose to give them money and that consumers need to change their behaviour. To this day I can't tell if they were serious or extremely sarcastic.
