Maybe I'm naive but the fact people are still demanding top down rule in Arab countries and imaging this will lead to some idealistic existence really hits me like a ton of bricks a few times a week.
But of course, they don't want our people to be free, they wan't "peace, stability, prosperity"
We absolutely do. Any progress our domestic or regional struggles make though are often undercut by international actors. But by no means is that intended to give a free ride to our own failings
