The most galling bit is they were like we travel just like journalists do. Ok when I went to Myanmar as a journalist before the coup I went on a tourist Visa risking arrest b/c everyone told me I wouldn't be approved for a journalist one and if I was the level of surveillance would impede my work
Anyway: I don't think every country the US govt says we shouldn't visit makes sense. The no go list is political. But if you're going someplace like Myanmar or North Korea you need to have a better reason than, "we're not supposed to"
Also Block Island is nice in the way all fancy New England summer towns (see also Nantucket) are nice in a way that feels like not reality cause they keep away everyone poor who isn't staff by being an Island
We did our honeymoon on block island with change we cashed in and got a last minute hotel deal bec of hurricane and forecast rain. I was the only brunette in hotel and every day, someone handed me luggage and told me to carry it to their room. Several called desk to complain about my poor service.
