Must get back on signing the smaller kid up for goalkeeping camp, per her request. She’ll make bank on a LOI women’s team, right?

TFW the players scoring goals aren’t just (a lot) younger than you, they are younger than one of your offspring. #euro2024

It was my last day at Amazon 5 years ago. Can’t imagine how these stats look now for most employees.

They’re at it again! Updating the Wetherspoon app will nuke your faves data; think they just did the same about 6 months ago. Can’t stop laughing at this with my Day Job hat on.

The Irish government is asking people to take a survey on climate change action. If you live in Ireland, this affects you. Please take the survey. It's pretty detailed, but it'll be time well spent. www.gov.ie/en/consultat... #ClimateChange #ClimateCrisis

Had a dream that I was teaching in a Department of Witchcraft and Library Science and am so disappointed now that it wasn’t real - the faculty t-shirt game was epic.

As always, many good reads…
GOOD MORNING! Here's the weekly round up of news and writing about beer and pubs. This time we've got a perfect pub in Lancashire, debate about what 'earthy' means in tasting notes, and a visit to a beautiful Munich beer garden, among other stuff. 🍺🍻 boakandbailey.com/2024/07/news...

If you, too, hate Dublin's canal fences, you can contact Waterways Ireland about it here: www.waterwaysireland.org/contact-us Hopefully if enough of us complain, they'll do something about it.
Here is the email I sent to Waterways Ireland today about the gross canal fencing.

10/10 no notes; top-level pettiness game.
There is a 7 foot tall guy behind Rishi Sunak who likely ran for office just to be able to hold a printed out L behind him during his concession speech.

Was living in the UK when the Tories last crashed out spectacularly in 1997; stayed up for Portillo losing his seat. Would not have predicted him being rehabbed as a train enthusiast, but here we are. Do the best you can, UK friends! I'll stay up to watch the returns from across the Irish Sea...

Question for #Archaeology BlueSky…listened to a recent History Rage that touched on The Ridgeway (mostly) not being prehistoric, which is not what they taught us in grad school…any good recent research? All the touristy stuff obvs leans in to it being super-old, but happy to hear current thinking!

As some have asked me how we emigrated to Ireland from the US, here's a hopefully-brief thread of how it worked for us. I know most of you sensible people know you can't just hop on a plane as a non-EU citizen, but just in case...you start here: www.citizensinformation.ie/en/moving-co...
