The French result is an excellent reminder for elections: Always assume the worst people you know are voting for their dream government and act accordingly.

And arguably what I am enjoying most is that this is not the hero theory of history. We’re not seeing a charismatic leader carry the election through rhetoric and force of personality. We’re seeing populations say: nope. I like the power of nope.

Huge sigh of relief. It's going to be a big mess (no majority so coalitions are being formed) but going to enjoy the relief rn
I am enjoying this week a lot.

Maybe it's because of Cut Off at the Throat, but two of my promotional novellas are back on the 'bestseller' lists. If you'd like one of my shorter books as a free sample, Spoil the Kill is at No.10 in YA Science Fiction Mystery in the UK and The Vile Desire to Scream is at No.12 in YA Steampunk.

So, for now, Cut Off at the Throat has peaked in the UK at: #16 in Teen & Young Adult Sci-Fi Mystery eBooks (it dropped to #17 before I took the screenshot) #33 in Teen & Young Adult Sci-Fi Action & Adventure And #21 in Teen YA SF Mystery on Amazon.com. Now . . . how the hell do I keep it up there?

Let's have an honest conversation about the election result: No party should secure 63.2% of MPs on 33.7% of the popular vote. And that's as true for Labour as it was for the Tories. shorturl.at/Yl3FK
Election 2024: This could be the birth of a powerful new electoral reform movementshorturl.at The election result might be wonderful, but it is not strictly tolerable.
