I just don't get salted caramel, I mean, I don't like caramel to start with so that doesn't help, but then you put salt in it. Why. Why would you do that.
Salt intensifies the flavors of caramel, vanilla, and chocolate, weirdly. When you put it in caramel, especially, it really brings out the butter flavor. Your Palate May Vary.
Oh I understand the rationale, I also just hate it. I love those flavours, the salt just spoils it for me.
I also hate cinnamon in apple pie too. I *love* apple pie. Why ruin it with cinnamon.
I understand I'm in a minority here, but I'm right dammit.
Going to be enjoying some sweet & salty popcorn later just to enrage Ant specifically.
I mean, I often have it, but tonight I shall think of you as I do. 😹
Yeah, I struggle enough with overly acidic IPA's pretending they taste of "Yuzu Citrus" rather than fucking battery acid, and now this. Salty beer - what the fuck are crisps for then?
Don't start me on cloudy over-hopped nettle juice that makes your mouth pucker like the grease nipple on a Model T Ford.
And no, putting a brightly-coloured depiction of a cartoon bush baby on the tin doesn't redeem it.
Post WW1 complaint about weakened ales? IIRC that's where the 3.5% stuff originates: bosses complaining that the beer's too strong and they can't get the workers back in't mill, so the breweries make 'small beer'.
Or it's a myth.
