One of the most fascinating things about generative AI is the businesses and states that are using it are largely doing “we’ve sped up this lengthy process”, whereas the tech companies’ largely seem to be going “we made this thing you like worse”.
Ultimately this is what the end result is going to be. This is 1-2% GDP uplift stuff to partially automate mostly well defined and tedious tasks. It's not going to be the society shattering and mass unemployment revolution that these companies are selling it as.
