embracing royalism for an American audience is the politics equivalent of Flat Eartherism - a contention that is so obviously bad that it's purpose isn't to convince but to demonstrate's someone's commitment to rejecting reality and willingness to adopt a false belief.
Far-right chud in NYT: "They went about the ordinary business of life - laboring, raising children, worshipping their creator - untroubled by futile expectations of change." Medieval commoners: "I would rather the king and all kings were dead than that my son should be hurt on his little finger."

I do think there's a particular type of servile personality that probably devolved as an evolutionary response that instinctually looks for opportunity to signal willingness to collaborate with aggression and cruelty and criminality as a survival instinct and you gotta understand royalists like that
