You ever think about how there’s a law enforcement database of all known CSAM? How do they keep pedophiles from joining the ranks and getting access to that?
not really the point but something i think about sometimes is how one of my classmate's dads came to career day in elementary school and told us about how he was an FBI agent who worked on the CSAM task force. even as a kid i was like "should we be hearing about this?"
he told us he worked on the "innocent images" task force and briefly described how it was about tracking people selling/trading photos of child abuse without going into too much detail
it was a pretty tame presentation (he obv didnt bring samples or anything) but it was like "maybe we shouldve brought in a guy who worked on like, wire fraud cases or something normal?"
yeah, like i can see it flowing from a desire to bring in parents with the most extraordinary jobs, and also be part of the broader movement at the time to finally admit to kids these dangers exist?

There’s not actually, this concern is a reason that NCMEC handles image hashing rather than the government. There are other factors (mostly static supply) that affect this but the point is that there is no such database, and there isn’t really a need for one
imagining how awesome it’d be if these grossly harmful, ubiquitous, expensive, paralegal, quasi-competent institutions were captured by democratic republican civil leadership
Not that you have to hand the mafia anything but I feel like the mafia would "disappear" people like this because they wouldn't want the extra heat. Cops know they likely won't have any accountability for letting predators thrive.
Because you could be a priest instead. Or a coach. Or a medical provider. Or any other position throughout the United States where an institution exists that will prioritize itself over the safety and wellbeing of the victims it contributes to the creation of.
