One of the most detrimental things about American politics is if you aren't the President, nobody wants to hear from you. When's the last time your Governor or House rep was interviewed by an outlet you recognize? But the President must appear every day for bad-faith questions or he's infirm.

I am convinced 50% of this is White Press Corp grumbling because Biden has been on the campaign trail most days of the year and told everyone hanging out in the White House geting dogged by these guys sucks.
Yes, a huge part of this is that they're pissed that he's been avoiding mainstream media ... because of how much they suck. I mean, case in point, right? Why the fuck is he going to engage more with a press that's only going to use any future interactions as further proof he needs to quit?
Like, I think Biden could appear in public more, but you give a speech about SCOTUS decision and they're shouting about whether he drops out. Suggests Biden isn't the only one failing civic responsibility here.
Yeah, I think they're making a calculation atm that interacting with the media is simply going to be worse than avoiding the press, and I'm not sure they're especially wrong about this.
