The real story is that ABC botched the interview, badgering Biden for 22 minutes to confess to his weaknesses, instead of asking him substantive policy questions so the public can see how he responds. What is Biden going to do about the SCOTUS immunity decision? Overturning the Chevron rule? 1/2
Ukraine. Gaza. Immigration. Climate. ABC missed so many opportunities to ask substantive questions so the public could find out whether Biden’s debate performance was an anomaly or the new reality. 2/2
Good to know that fund-drive dollars are going to support the perpetuation of this media feeding frenzy and the mainstreaming of far right pundits. No thanks, NPR
Maybe y'all should focus more on the GOP not caring about the faults - sexual assaulter, fraudulent businessman, serial liar, convicted felon - they genuflect to?
Incredibly bizarre way to end this article. Biden’s priorities and character have been of huge concern to a large chunk of his constituency for almost a year now, and quoting Fetterman of all people on just blindly supporting an unfit candidate is… really a choice.
😩 Biden is pretty much toast as the nominee except for his ego, the usual DNC dysfunction, and his family's misplaced patriotic loyalties to a declining octogenarian clinging to power. Want to praise his career; fine. But it's time to move on and get a Democrat in there that can win.
Relatively few voters actually watch these debates. The vast majority get their take away from media (and SM) outlets afterward. So instead of framing things in terms of voters' decisions based on the debate a more accurate framing would be in terms of what the *media* decides post-debate.
