I'm so old I remember GOP hopes in 2022 for a Red "Wave." The UK is showing what a tsunami is.

Only took them 14 fucking years

Makes me wonder about how inherently sensitive UK public is to red scare. Corbin was routed even though he has more labor support and was more popular but couldn’t translate into electoral victory. This new guy is milquetoast Blair 2.0 and he won (obviously brexit and cabbage PM etc etc)

The early results look like the Conservative vote collapse has gone almost entirely to the even more right-wing Reform and Labour's popular vote has barely changed, or am I not reading these correctly?

The exit poll suggests Conservatives shedding votes to both Reform and Liberal Democrats.

The early results are less than a dozen seats out of 510
There is some nuance, even though Labours top line vote is identical to 2019. They have lost a lot of vote share in places (Greater London) they dominated in 2019, and improved everywhere else. Overall same share of votes, but spread out way more, which is important for FPTP.
