Great Washington Post nostalgia study. Adults think U.S. society was historically nicest and comfiest—most moral and close-knit, families happiest—whenever they happened to be little kids, and culture (music, movies, TV, fashion, sports, food) best whenever they were adolescents. wapo.st/3WXd9xS

It's possible that the most fundamental message of all literature and art is "You are not alone."
I would retweet this with blaring neon if I could. Poetry and art helped me survive the worst trauma of my life, when my marriage abruptly collapsed in an incredibly ugly way.

While I disagree with the burning Confederate flag part (because purchasing those flags only encourages the production of more of those flags), this is true. The fake mythology around Thanksgiving has overtaken the true meaning of the holiday: Killing traitors and being together.
Annual reminder that Thanksgiving has nothing to do with pilgrims and natives; it was instituted by President Lincoln in 1864 to celebrate Union victories, so if you really want to observe it properly you should burn a Confederate flag.
End of feed.
