In the settings you can have it so Bluesky reminds you to put in alt text. I have it turned on so I don't forget.

New bluesky people. Use alt text. I'm not the first person to say it or the one saying it louder. We do that on this platform to make images accessible. My alt text for images is not always fancy just basic & I employ alt text bots to generate alt text, but I try. You should make this effort too.
