Perhaps I'm kinda unfair in judging all British fish n chips based on eating it one time, but at the time the only ones I've eaten were the fish n chips from an O'Leary's in Sweden, which wasn't nearly as drowned in oil.

Oh, for sure. It's one of those dishes that goes directly from "heavenly comfort" to "my god why would anyone eat this it's just trash"
