"No loan forgiveness, you need personal responsibility, if you take the money you pay it back!" - Republicans who took Paycheck Protection Program loans in 2020 and had them forgiven

Biden literally has a PPP grifter on his social media re-election campaign who took $50,000, before turning around and advocating against student debt lmao @MuellerSheWrote

How much had Biden sent to Ukraine? To Israel?

Since the Biden supporter is trying to derail the conversation by blocking. bsky.app/profile/carl...
The claim that Democrats make things incrementally better should be weighed against what those same Democrats do to make things worse.

Joe Biden failed to deliver the paltry $10,000 forgiveness he campaigned on, or free community college The balls to think you should run again after lying this hard to get elected the first time…

Education should be free, if not then extremely cheap. Being uneducated in today's world is a disadvantage. But to get educated you have to spend so much money.

But there's different kinds of education. A substantial vocational effort would be nice. I could really use a plumber today.

I’m probably missing it, but not seeing the people who qualify in that link?

It’s in the 3rd paragraph: “The 153,000 borrowers who qualify for the latest debt forgiveness are those who are enrolled in the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) repayment plan and who have made at least 10 years of payments.” Side note: 153,000 feels like a small number for $1.2 billion!
Avatar
On average it's $7,843.14 per person. (Yeah, I did the math. I did the monster math.)

I had to as well...it's hard to conceive 1.2b vs 150k without just plugging it in. Those aren't numbers most of us work with every day!

“[A]nd originally borrowed $12,000 or less for college, the Education Department said. For every $1,000 borrowed above $12,000, a borrower can receive forgiveness after an additional year of payments, the department added.”

Some may be like me, and have $175K in debt because of interest on a $50K loan, having made not a lot of money in the interim and having compounded interest.
Avatar
Disgusting. Literally nothing more than legalized loan sharks
Avatar
This was the "government" agency ( semi-private, whatever that means), not a bank.
Avatar
Checks out since it's only people that borrowed $12K or less.
Avatar
About $7,800 in debt per person if averaged!
Avatar
-People who have borrowed less than $12k and have been in repayment for 10 years -For each additional year you've been in repayment, the limit goes up $1000 -(Not in the article) All undergrad loans after 20 years of repayment, all grad loans after 25
Avatar
Little less than $10,000 for the chosen few (who have incredible and outstandong accomplishments, and definitely still own more than $10k 🤣
