Right! That must have been the idea, but then they thought: "We want to fire guns and shoot arrows at it and plastic won't cut it", so they scrapped it again and went full-on with "stainless" steel

Just before the first production run they replaced stainless with regular steel to reduce costs. No one thought it was important anyway.
