If you've ever used a seam ripper to remove a shoe tag or patched over a jacket logo with a death metal band, you are my truest homie.

The '90s No Logo holdouts (I am one of them) were right. We have always been right and we'll die being right, swathed in our generic unbranded shrouds and store-brand coffins

Norman A Daniels sf-encyclopedia.com/entry/daniel... died on this day, so here's the magazine art for his story "The Lady Is a Witch" (Artist: cover probably by Earle Bergey, interior art by Virgil Finlay):

Am I a bastard for thinking the behind the scenes after House of the Dragon episodes is some boring ass blather?

I swear to Christ the Democratic Party would convene to have a caucus on the egalitarian ethics of lifeboats while the band was playing on the fucking Titanic

It's my birthday on Sunday and I've been thinking about celebrating by taking out every Shout! Factory and Vinegar Syndrome DVD I've purchased but never watched and going through them all in an afternoon. I don't know if I will but it's a fun idea

Never quite thought of it that way, but... ...maybe?

Is it a "good" movie? You know it never pays to get your hopes up.

Hearing that the "white nuclear family imperiled by an apocalyptic computer monster" subgenre finally produced a watchable movie in Arcadian. Thank you Nicolas Cage

Perhaps it’s a personal failing, but I literally cannot listen to Donald Trump talk and will never do so willfully again, regardless of the outcome of any election now or ever

Weird thing about me is that if I'm talking on the phone (or on my defunct podcast) and I want to really concentrate on what someone's saying, I have to close my eyes or risk zoning out. Truly a goldfish level of distractibility

I assume that this is actually how I'm going to die and also I've got an Exodus album playing in the background. I would be at peace Not my partner though I don't think she'd like it

Dying is so much easier when the thrash valkyries are speeding you on your way.

Wife's outta town for a week, time to party down with the boys!! [I pound 1 beer in the kitchen, slip on the spill and crack my head on the counter. My body is not found for 6 days]

What was the precise moment that we fell through the Verhoeven Floor, into an even more parodic future than he would have depicted? I think it was this

Maybe it's just because I'm older but I always find it creepier when a shadowy organization is just a word and an offscreen presence and not a tangible thing with an ominous logo and sinister employees in dark suits

I've been thinking a lot about CRIMES OF THE FUTURE and how good Cronenberg is at implying big, sophisticated settings with little to no glamour. Certainly some of that is budgetary limitations but still, he does more with a bit of dialogue than some do with $100 million of special effects.

Like, I know, judge people on their ideas and not their appearance, but damn Kimberly Guilfoyle kind of freaks me out. Skinwalker vibes

I'm from Appalachia and I think Vance sucks. I didn't go to Yale or any of those schools for State Department Psychos or Torture Justifiers but I've been writing about the "rural experience" for years (secret cults leveraging capitalism and de-industrialization as a way to please their blood gods)
