The entire game of making right wingers “patriots” and liberals “America haters” is about gerrymandering what you’re allowed to be proud of in American history and what counts as hatred. Pride in The New Deal doesn’t count and hatred of immigrants and America’s largest cities doesn’t count either.

This recipe changed my perspective on burgers at home. It'd work with meatless patties and a vegan cheese. Biden doesn't command enough loyalty to bring people like Golden into line. And others in or close to the WH are leaking info to try to push him out. The plan to get him over the line in Nov. won't work in this dynamic. It's a bank run: not smart, definitely unfair, but sometimes it's the reality

It's not that Biden can't win under the right circumstances. It's that far right judges have shielded Trump from the courts, and economic perceptions haven't improved enough. Now you have Dem Congressmen representing EC votes he needs to win jumping ship and writing editorials to save themselves.

I guess if you've convinced yourself Biden is sure to lose, there's no harm in joining the drumbeat to drive up his negatives and help his opponent. Especially if it gets you network TV hits, where you're treated like an important, even legendary journalist who's still got it.
