Cracked a rib or two a couple of weeks ago. Very poor experience. 1/10. Do not recommend.

Mate. Full sympathy. Bloody niggling pain.

It’s the longevity of the pain I resent, personally. Might pass the time by developing a Vicodin addiction

V v painful. Painkillers + try to work out some pillow arrangement so you don’t roll over onto that side in your sleep.

Ty, very good idea. Currently there’s precisely one position that works. Also - lucky my wife! - it also makes me snore like a train.

The biggest problem is the likelihood of developing a chest infection if you don’t breathe normally. Hence the importance of taking pain killers. Some advice here www.oxfordhealth.nhs.uk/wp-content/u...

Thank you. I’ve heard as much. Breathing deeply and eating paracetamol like smarties.

No problem. I’ve broken ribs in the past and also have had open heart surgery. One tip not mentioned in the Oxford piece is to hold a pillow against your chest if you feel the need to cough.
I think that, as with toes, they have to be left to heal themselves?
