Everyone watching any Bond movie: this is utterly unrealistic, no one would stand there and say exactly how they were going to do some awful thing, the Incredibles even made a joke about monologuing.
Everyone experiencing reality: Oh. Oh, I see.
As I wrote there, in 2017, "if I need to write any more near-future fiction, instead of striving for realism in my fictional political leaders I should just borrow the cheesiest Bond villain not already a member of the G20 or Davos."
So I did just that (in the New Management books).
A lot of "realistic" characterization isn't; the range of human character is enormously greater than many writers understand. So yay Bond villains and even superheroes.
I mean, I'm just a software engineer, but my dining room has a human skeleton in it (resin, the kind used in med schools), I go around wearing lab coats, and I have a long-haired white cat. Even the styles aren't as unusual as people think.
of course (for the sake of people who haven’t read them) “not already a member of the G20 or Davos” meant alt history David Cameron and an eldritch god in human form.
which is concerning, honestly.
