I’m too shy to play TTRPGs but I really like character and world building stuff and I’m great at strategy stuff… so can I just start a game with other shy people and we can blush and mutter together?
A couple of gaming stores and libraries in our area (Austin) have mini-TTRPG sessions to give people a taste of it without a whole campaign commitment. Maybe there is something like that in your area for the shy ones.
I've been in a regular game of on kind or another for 3 years now. I still feel shy and nervous beforehand, but when the character takes hold in my head it's so much fun to see what happens - last session I talked a bunch of trolls into fighting a kraken so I wouldn't have to fight either of them.
