Since Dobbs, polls have consistently existed in a different reality than actual elections. This cannot be disregarded.

Even the "easy" stuff census does is a whole lot harder than most people realize.

the bulk were actual censuses rather than surveys and really more a matter of understanding national income accounts and reading audited financial statements. but was fun to work down across the hall from the employment folks cooking the books for bush *and* obama somehow

my favorite war story is my boss once got cussed out by mike huckabee when he demanded we change the classification manual because everyone in 2008 accused him of raising taxes and that car fee was a tax in our system lol

Should you tell him or should I? (Poll-focused models always showed a tighter race, the “red wave” narrative was because pundits couldn’t believe the polls were true).

Just sayin’. Anyway, I think the NYT op-ed roster is set for skeeters for now, which probably is good for you because this is a weaksauce audition you’re turning in today. Maybe regroup, find a weird conspiracy to believe in (they LOVE that), build up the ol’ résumé to try again when a spot opens.
