The opportunity to gently taper off carbon emissions and reduce fossil fuel usage has been and gone. That said, I'd ban crypto and AI in a heartbeat which would drastically reduce global energy usage at a stroke.

We used to have Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall and now we have Winter, Spring, Summer, Fires, and Fall... but it's cool.

Why have to drastically change how we live really quickly if we wany to save the planet but like 99.9% of people don't want to do that, so instead people are investing resources on making everyday things more "green" instead of getting straight to the point for a more convenient life.
