My friend is going to be teaching legal writing and research in an undergrad program soon and asked for any resources he could use and I’ve never recommended something faster than I did when I said cleaned up @scotusplaces.bsky.social

Actually it seems like SCONM is using (text only) as a substitute for most of (cleaned up) in a pretty official-looking way. They are consistently using the same explanatory parenthetical in opinions written by several justices. But as defined, (text only) doesn't cover omitted citations, so

Attn @scotusplaces.bsky.social: Despite my efforts to sell the NM Supreme Court on (cleaned up), the Court appears to be unofficially using (text only) instead. But it's weird--in an opinion issued today, a citation is followed by "(text only) (citations omitted)." Why use both???
