The original Elder Scrolls game, Arena, was not originally an open-world adventure, instead more of a story-based combat game. Bethesda devs actually used scale models to create some of the game's scenes! Seen in the second picture.

The PS1 Cyborg Kuro-chan game is cool because the weapons permanently transform when you upgrade them, so it's not just more/stronger projectiles or whatever For instance, a Molotov cocktail eventually becomes a massive bazooka and a revolver turns into a big shotgun

Checking out the Public Launch of the translated and newly supported Wii Room channel from Wii Link for modded Wiis and emu. This was a channel that was previously only available in Japan but is now back up and running, translated after four years of beta, and supported with new shows and services

My Top 10 Games 1/10 Maniac Mansion (NES) This is the first game I ever really got into when I was given a NES as a kid. Every bit of music in this game is top tier which was a huge reason I fell in love with it. I also love the humour and atmosphere. #nes #maniacmansion #favouritegames

Always compelling and absolutely bonkers, EXXOS's Captain Blood from 1988, Commodore Amiga version. The game where a mummified video game creator and captain of an organic starship chases down clones of himself and talks to aliens through emoticons. French sci-fi surrealism at its finest.

Picking up a hardback copy of the Star Trek Encyclopedia yesterday got me hankering to fire up our CDROM version - Encylopedia '99. Simon & Schuster put out heaps of these kind of things in the mid-late 90s. You couldn't walk into any software store then without seeing them lining the shelves.

Digging around in one of my storage boxes and unearthed a relic of AD&D's early 90s bump in popularity and TSR's efforts to introduce the game to a wider audience. This is one of the modules for TSR's Mystara campaign setting that had audio CDs with them to aid new GMs in adding immersion.

One of the sweetest and most whimsical game developer logos. The adventurous raccoon-ish creature that was Traveller's Tales' mascot and logo. Later versions were CGI animated renders until he vanished in 2005 in favour of the current double T, but this 1997 version is my favourite one.
