Right now we are hamstrung mainly by comfortable people who cannot believe these are the stakes, & I dread what it might take to wake them up

I don't know, I think they're waking up. But the Dems need the courage to explicitly run against the court, or it will come off once more as so much thumb-twiddling.

Most of them have definitely woken up. But we are bound by unforgiving margins.
