There's a reason the most zealous advocates for freedom of speech and religion in what became the US were ultrareligious. Separation of church and state was meant to protect actual freedom of conscience - I really doubt the sincerity of faith of these publicly "religious" people who want to end it.
AIUI, some of the first legal battles over sponsored prayers in public schools in the US were Roman Catholics suing to stop Bible readings in class. Because de facto US Christianity is generic Protestant, so the readings were from the King James Version.
You don’t have to like porn, or watch porn. You may have outgrown porn. I for one am interested in the labour, health and legal issues of porn. Even if you don’t consume it or work in it, those issues affect us all, sometimes indirectly.

Ask Louisianans. They passed a law requiring the use of an ID for porn last year and they still are expected to vote mainly red in this next election.

Republicans dont make sense, it's why so many of their drafted bills get thrown out for being too vague or broad. They've been trying to make bans on very specific things they dont like and often cant pass legislation on just that one thing because of other protections.

It's a lot easier to understand Republicans when you let go of the idea that ideological consistency matters to them. It doesn't. Their only real ideologies are power and cultural grievance; every other belief is just a tool to be picked up or discarded as convenient.
