Political violence always benefits authoritarians because liberals will always condemn it and authoritarians, regardless of whether they are perpetrators or victims, will always use it to claim more power.

I too used to be an 'oh, NOW you care' person when I was younger. I was profoundly annoyed with ppl who didn't "understand" what I already knew & then all of a sudden started caring. Then I realized that was a ME issue, not at all about them. EYE was annoyed while THEY were coming to consciousness.

My first sighting of the Opill in Costco! $60 for a four month supply is pretty good, but birth control and all meds should be FREE. ...and i'm holding my breath to see how long before the garbage monsters try to ban this next.

For me, collective action can crowd out a despairing mood. It offers a little bit of light and helps you to perceive yourself and your community more clearly. Experience and meaning are derived from doing - through the doing comes the feeling.

Making students homeless and without healthcare the same day, destroying their belongings, banning them from campus, having them arrested for trespassing—this institution has far too much power to do harm to the students for whose safety it’s responsible.

Something that came as a shock to me as a young person was that having children didn't improve human beings.. IOW it didn't make them more compassionate, kind, or likely to do good acts. Watching young people realize this in the midst of the ongoing genocides brings this back to mind.

An appeals court ruled that Texas ER doctors can simply let pregnant people die instead of giving them abortions. Happy 2024.
BREAKING: Fifth Circuit unanimously holds that federal emergency room protections (EMTALA) do not mandate that physicians provide abortions when that is the "stabilizing treatment" needed, upholding a lower-court injunction issued in a lawsuit brought by Texas against the Biden admin. More to come:

Pregnant miscarry at every stage of pregnancy *all the time*. There is very little guidance on any front about what to do, and it is overwhelming and terrifying. Folks who miscarry this far into pregnancy... the grief is overwhelming, and even *best case*, support is slim.
Just a reminder #BrittanyWatts is still being prosecuted in Ohio for having a miscarriage on the toilet. Anti #abortion laws and beliefs are harmful. We warned y'all.

It sure would be a shame if we found out who that scumbag nurse who called the police on Brittany Watts was.
