I fail to see the problem. In general parlance (now) an organized campaign of lies counts as disinformation. No one cares if it's a government behind it or, say, Trump's campaign. It wouldn't change if Putin turned out to be supporting it.

The replies to this (so far) are pretty dumb. The quote is spot-on and so is the article as a whole. People are arguing against windmills at this point. America is the most successfully propagandized population on earth and the fact that they believe they aren’t only goes to prove they are.
