people give Shatner so much shit as if he's a bad actor. The way he plays this scene with Kirk realizing that his friend has returned from the dead is so great. You can see so much relief and love in his face. The perfect counterweight to the devastating conclusion of Wrath of Khan

you're right

critics often cite this quality as a flaw, but I think a Star Trek movie should seem like an episode of the show. They don't need to be blockbusters.
