Other countries have better sunscreens. Here's why we can't get them in the U.S.www.npr.org Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S. and we need all the protection we can get. So why is it so hard to get newer, more effective ingredients approved here?

I would caution that this org and this list have come under a great deal of criticism from sources I trust. Which is not to say “no really, they’re all created equal”, but that if your brand isn’t on the list, it’s a sign to do more research, not throw it away. Yet.

Wirecutter's top two recommendations get moderate and poor ratings from EWG. Time to up my sunscreen game (again!)
