the difference between someone who posts a lot and someone who has a major publication is that the major publication has credibility
if the major publications are just people who post a lot, what are we even doing
I think a lot of their credibility came from not being able to publish EVERY thought that crossed their minds. Even though the like, NYT home page is full of shit, only getting it together once per day helped them
But I do think this is the way of the world - if you read anything going back to at least the invention of the printing press, it was all essentially Twitter with different styles
