This is why lock-to requirements for micro mobility are stupid.
If this bike wasn’t locked to the post, I could move it out of the sidewalk and ramp. But since the city they have to lock it to something, they lock it in the right of way instead of putting it in the curb lane where it belongs.
🚀 Parking reform is sweeping the nation. At the end of 2020 there were 16 US cities that had eliminated costly parking mandates. Now at least 69 have discarded these damaging and arbitrary rules!
The best is yet to come!
In January, the small village of Muir, MI adopted their first zoning code including this “Zoning Bill of Rights” and it’s great!
No parking mandates, ever. No exclusionary zoning, ever. Residential allowed on every lot. Mixed use allowed on every lot.
If you’re gonna have zoning, this is the way.
