We were proud to join Riders Alliance today to build a #FastBusAve! Flatbush Avenue bus riders deserve better than 4 mph buses. We need safe streets, efficient buses, and reliable ways to get around New York City.

Vermont now requires drivers to pass vulnerable road users, including bike riders, with at least four feet of space. With its new law, all of the states that border New York now have defined safe passage laws. Three out of five extend that protection to all vulnerable road users.

We are horrified and heartbroken by this senseless traffic violence. No one should fear death or injury on our streets or in our parks. We send our deepest condolences to the loved ones of those killed and wish for a full recovery to those injured.

In 2018, $50 million was allocated to DOT to install 1,500 bollards. At a hearing last week, DOT admitted that only about half of those bollards had been installed and none since 2020. We must use infrastructure to protect people from harm.

When we are not marching in the streets or keeping the phones ringing in our legislators’ offices, we are keeping Governor Hochul's betrayal at the top of the news. We won’t stop fighting until we save congestion pricing. Here's what you can do over the next two weeks: transalt.org/blog/2000-to...

Congestion pricing is about more than just raising revenue for the MTA — it's also about getting cars and trucks off our streets. We need cleaner air and safer streets.

When Governor Hochul paused congestion pricing, she doomed us to a NYC overrun by cars. We tried to give her what she wants: more cars — and notes from constituents in need of clean air & accessible transit. We were shocked that her staff refused to accept their pleas for help.

Central Park went car-free six years ago yesterday. People said it would never happen. People said it would never be a success. Now, it's impossible to imagine Central Park any other way. (Congestion pricing would follow a similar course, FYI)
At last, Central Park is permanently car-freeny.curbed.com New York City’s most popular park is now closed to vehicular traffic, except on a few crosstown thoroughfares.

When Governor Hochul “paused” congestion pricing, she doomed New Yorkers to a city overrun by cars. Now, we're asking you to chip in $5 (or more) to help us deliver thousands of toy cars to her — with the news cameras watching. ➡️ act.transalt.org/a/cars-for-k...

State law requires congestion pricing & any attempt to stop the program is an abuse of power. Gov. Hochul’s attempts to cancel the program can’t succeed — everything from accessible stations to cleaner air, it’s all at stake. We’re proud to join Comptroller Lander & this coalition.
