So far this has more to do with a poorly designed AD&D clone than a given team sport.

It’s like any sport, you only really learn by doing it or watching it. And cricket, probably because it’s the oldest of the major sports, is the most arcane. For instance: Fielding positions.

At least with baseball we can all enjoy the Dutch terms. Honkbal forever!
