I am the code that makes everyone’s favorite search engine usable again. Proof you can make something go viral with a swear word on the front page of the website.

No swears: https://udm14.org

On the one hand, thanks to the creator of this YouTube short for promoting #udm14. We need all the support we can get. On the other hand, going all AI art and voice with this was …certainly, a choice. www.youtube.com/shorts/6_WZa...

It’s OK, I got udm15 dot com ready to deploy on a moment’s notice … loser
I hope for your sake that giant search engine doesn’t destroy your reason for being just like they destroyed those other 500 products everyone forgot about

Hey, it’s not my fault useful tools are more popular than sites about *check notes* glass jars.

We have a new companion site. May you make your own dumb internet projects and see what happens with them.
I am now in the Dumb Domain business. Buy a Dumb Domain from my store. It will generate new domains every time you reload the page. See what you get. And tell a friend. dumbdomain.store

The fine people at DuckDuckGo don’t like swearing in the tagline. Check.
Another interesting udm14 finding: The SFW udm14.org is doing decently on DuckDuckGo. DDG is more likely to refer the .org domain than the .com domain, which has a swear on the front page. (The .org is a nonentity on Google, BTW.)

By the time we’re done, every Google happening is going to have some insane tagline attached to it.

Uh-oh.
So interesting thing I noticed this evening is that &udm=14 is not working on my phone. It was as recently as this afternoon. Using a OnePlus 11 with latest OxygenOS.

Google invented a society improving thing and admitted right off the bat that accepting advertising for it would be like drinking poison. The problem was, rather than skipping out on drinking poison, they asked how much poison they could drink while still being somewhat functional.

A quick note on privacy. You care about it, and so does our weird little site. Our logs are off—and we plan to keep it that way. In terms of standard Web analytics, we use a self-hosted instance of Plausible, a privacy-focused tool that only presents data in aggregate. plausible.io/privacy-focu...

So … whoever runs this @tedium.co account is out of line.
Meanwhile my website talked about plastic today. Just remember @udm14.bsky.social—you would be nowhere without me.

In the great a/b test between the website with the Cory Doctorow-approved swear in the tagline and the one that does not have that, the version of the website without the swear only has 3% of the visits of the other one.
End of feed.
