Maybe I'm asking too much from Valve, but since we got an update for the first Half-Life can we get something similar for Half-Life 2 for its 20th anniversary?
Yes the game is that old already and still no HL3 in sight.
The closest thing is the Half-Life 2 RTX project being worked on by modders. This includes texture resolution upgrades so it'll look better even without raytracing.
Sure, but I want one that's made by competent people who respect the art direction. All these RTX versions look like garbage with "Nintendo hire this man" quality, very shiny but unbelievably ugly.
If you want really ugly, there was the infamous FakeFactory Cinematic Mod for HL2.
The levels are cluttered, music replaced with generic movie tracks, and the character models are way off.
