I haven't been to Dick's since 2017 and desperately want to go again, but I also can't pass up Gizz in the South that weekend, so hope y'all have a blast.
While travelling last week, I missed the opportunity to hype two albums by artists I love that came out on Friday. On the left, we have Starflyer 59's Lust for Gold, a nice little slab of shoegaze. On the right, Pony Bradshaw's Thus Spoke the Fool, one of my favorite songwriters of recent vintage.

My "See a Concert in Every State" map is really lagging behind at 21, though I did manage to cross Delaware off this weekend. Gotta go back to Maryland again though.

So whenever Phish has one of their festivals, they set up an on-site radio station called The Bunny and they bring in all kinds of DJs from various stations, other musicians, etc. You can listen on the Sirius Phish channel on their app. On an incredible 60s & 70s funk show right now.

What a bummer. black midi were one of the most exciting things going. All of the weirdo London bands hanging it up. First The Comet is Coming and Sons of Kemet and now this 😩
A celebration of the music of the late, great Dan Sartain. Plate Six was often his backing band so if anyone is gonna do it right, it’s them. DN did tours with The White Stripes, Gogol Bordello, etc. He was more revered in Europe than this US, but there’s a big crowd out for this tonight.
I used to be a big film buff, but kind of fell off after a while as there was being less produced (or at least screened) that I had interest in. Don't make it to the cinema too often these days, but I am going to go see Kneecap on Sunday. This one checks a few boxes for me:

My #TicketStubWed memory for this week is a bit of mixed feelings. Phoenix and Dinosaur Jr. at Red Rocks with this being my first show at the hallowed venue…except the weather was supposed to be terrible and it got moved to an indoor venue and didn’t rain a drop. At least the show still happened!
