This one was something: the whole thing was like 80 feet long.

I got to see his stuff at the NYBG a few years ago, it's been my phone background ever since

Nice photos, Chihuly is a good exhibit I'd recommend to anyone.

Never really been into Chihuly, but this I like

Have you been to a show of his? His work strongly relies on the physicality of itself- there's a quality, especially with things like the Mille Fiori and the red "chandelier" piece with how it casts shadow, that just doesn't come across in pictures or even video.

I guess part of the appeal for me is that I'm kind of a craftsman (sometimes I make arrows for the co-op), so I'm just in awe of the work involved from concept to final product.

Ah, well, if you aren't a fan, you aren't a fan. Love his work myself, even though me getting to see it in person is rare (this is maybe the third time).

There's a lot of his work at Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio, and it's not really my taste, but the tactility of it is deeply impressive in person.

I've always found his early cylinder work far more compelling than his later stuff, which feels unapproachable and over-the-top to me.

While I respect his baskets, I actually really love his latter work, especially his *Mille Fiori* pieces- there's a real organicness to them, like looking at a garden from another world.

There was an exhibition of his work at the Bronx Botanical Gardens that really emphasized that aspect of his style.

Have you ever been to the Tacoma Museum of Glass? I will say that seeing how the work is done makes me appreciate (if still not esthetically love) Chihuly's later work.

Never had the chance yet, need to get to know some Tsimshan or Tlingit guys who I have somewhere to crash first.

Where is this? It's spectacular!

Biltmore Estate in Asheville- my place of seasonal employment has a special deal where we don't have to pay the gate fee, so it was just $35 for me. They're doing some *in situ* displays of his stuff in the house and grounds and a whole show in an exhibition hall.

We live in Northern Virginia, I have wanted to visit Asheville for a while. Screenshotting this and putting it in my places to go folder. Thanks!

I like his work. Many years ago I went to his museum in Seattle and it's so impressive. The physicality is very striking.
