I run into this problem here on bsky. I created a feed for local residents and news in Arlington, Virginia, and need to have a complex set of filters to weed out mentions of the other Arlingtons.

And not even the city is sufficient, promoters. (Though, as I noted, not even having that is embarrassing.) But this is what I think every time I see one: "Oh, you say it's in Arlington? Is that Massachusetts? Texas? Virginia? Any of 18 others in the US??" www.washingtonian.com/2016/01/14/t...

Arlington, Virginia. Bike or walk along some of our great trails or urban parks. We're only 26 square miles but have awesome trails & parks. Four Mile Run, Lubber Run, Mount Vernon Trail, W&OD, Custis, Potomac Heritage. Backup plan: get a half smoke at Weenie Beenie and eat it by the dog park.

Also, please stop blaming everything you hate about Bluesky on Jack Dorsey, Jack Dorsey is a fuckmuppet, but he has never had any significant influence over Bluesky in any way other than providing some of the initial funding for it and he fucked off immediately after doing so.

Speak for yourself, please. I want an open, federated system. If you want a centralized platform there are other options out there.
