Americans, is the thing with going "horses horses horses" during Jingle Bells a la Sleepless in Seattle a common thing? Or is it just in that one nightmarish rendition that grafts on a bit of Sleigh Ride?

If anyone from Dropout is listening, you actually genuinely do need to put those No Thank You The Ocean shirts in the store, OK thanks

Things like the Timpson and Vallance appointments have me sitting eagerly F5ing political liveblogs waiting for some indication that they didn't actually mean all the horrifying transphobia

The James Timpson appointment really shows Starmer's political acumen. He's had the keys to Number 10 for less than 24 hours and boom - he's scored a free spare set.

Something I really appreciate about professional wrestling is that if someone has tape on them somewhere it's a signal that you have to hit them there three times to defeat them

Lego now has a Robert Shaw minifigure so what's stopping you from building a Taking of Pelham One Two Three model?

For those who don't know: this is James Timpson of Timpson key cutters/shoe repairs/dry cleaners. His company employs ex-convicts and even runs work training programmes in prisons. Genuinely inspired choice.
Oh, now that *is* interesting - James Timpson as minister for prisons, parole and probation. Dare we actually hope for something that might reduce recidivism?

Tried to remember what the word was for the big ray thing in Iron Man's chest and rather than producing "unibeam" my brain could only offer up "monobrow"

Robert Buckland reading his own party for absolute filth at the moment, I absolutely do not have to hand it to him but it is genuinely fun to see

Duck's experience of previous elections is proving absolutely vital, he's able to guide the coverage when some of the younger correspondents on the ground (and I'm thinking particularly of Topsy here) are edging towards a more sensationalist take, it's a more classic, grounded BBC approach
Of all the channels, CBeebies’ coverage has been miles ahead tonight. Iggle Piggle has been a solid anchor, Duggee a good foil, and there have been some great insights from Sarah and, even more so, Duck.

Everyone’s saying it’s weird that Rees-Mogg has a picture of Thatcher and Churchill in his study. But he’s actually in his car.

It is naive to think that Reform's support will dwindle if Labour improves public services and the economy. Grievance-merchants aren't interested in actual reality and facts. The only way to deal with racists is to *shut them down*, not to appeal to their sense of reason. They haven't gone one.

Big up the BBC Scotland correspondent transmitting from Stornaway, your accent is beautiful and also as easily penetrated as the average Canadian X-Men stalwart's thighbone

Skipping around between BBC, ITV and C4 coverage and it's really interesting to see how little appreciation the centrally-directed political coverage has for the specific nuances of Scotland's politics. Spoilers: we are very much our own little basket of neuroses
