We incarcerate a higher percentage of our population than all other western countries, most of the people Black, based on laws designed to alienate those people. Whites live in fear of equal rights because they fear being treated the way minorities have been treated in the U.S. I am white, FYI.

Grain of salt because I'm not being very thorough But it looks like its a combo of parole boards having higher capacity and letting more people out than prior years (possibly influenced by wanting to reduce prison populations during covid), and less people going to prison, definitely because covid.

China, since 1949 was taken over by the Russia friendly Communist Party. They have since indirectly and directly murdered millions of Chinese people and built up a very robust AI driven censorship with an entire Propaganda department intact. Their numbers are never accurate.
