I can’t even begin to articulate how much this pisses me off, beyond the obvious, this is a usability and accessibility nightmare.

Dark mode isn’t included in accessibility compliance criteria but people with light sensitivity can actually be hurt from the bright light of a website. Which is just a reminder that compliance is the bare minimum.

The problem with "AI"-generated alt text is it has no idea what's important and what isn't, so any actually relevant information is hidden in, like, a landfill of words.
